Extensive mineral mining leads to quantitative and qualitative depletion of mineral reserves and resources. At the same time, application of integrated subsoil management principles calls for a new technological policy of mineral mining and processing, which is understood as a set of interconnected industries having the same production level and developing synchronously. The formation of a new technological policy of integrated subsoil management is considered in terms of the largest copper deposit Zhezkazgan. The audit of mineral reserves and resources shows replenishment potential of the raw material base through extraction of copper-bearing material previously assumed as nonprocessible. The international experience review and the implemented lab tests identify the most promising technologies for mineral and waste processing at the final operation stage of the Zhezkazgan field. A new scheme of ore haulage from faces to ground surface is evaluated. The Kazgidromed Research Center has developed innovation technologies for each type of raw materials: mixed and oxidized ore, as well as low-grade sulfide ores and tailings. In the course of development, a special research and semicommercial tests were carried out, production procedures were worked out, and feasibility studies of efficiency of the proposed technologies were performed. The developed innovative technologies provide high through extraction of target components, which allows significant reduction in the production cost and ensures profitability of any copper-bearing material production and processing. Thus, for operating mines, the modification of technological policy of mineral mining and processing replenishes depleting reserves and resources thanks to overall extraction of all mineral types with introduction of innovative methods for processing and recovery of all valuable components.
