Abstract | This paper substantiates the effective use of anthracite production and processing waste to create new technologies for the manufacture of fuel briquettes with high consumer properties. The urgency of developing a highly effective binder for briquetting anthracite is noted, to replace the known materials requiring preliminary heating and preparation of a pre-heated charge, as well as briquette pressing at high temperatures. The aim of the work is to create a binder that would enable cold briquetting of anthracite wastes without preliminary thermal preparation and would not lose its binding properties. A search was conducted among organic and inorganic substances to identify a modifier for the main component of the binder for the production of anthracite briquettes, i.e. a technical lignosulfonate. The influence of the selected modifier (bottom products of chemical industries) led to the creation of a complex micellar formation and subsequent development of a stronger lignosulfonate molecular structure. In order to improve the hydrophobic behavior of the modified lignosulfonates, a solution of tall oil pitch in an organic solvent was added. A study was conducted on the selection of the optimal ratio for the tall oil pitch and organic solvent solution. The best composition was developed for the modified lignosulfonates with tall oil pitch in an organic solvent to add hydrophobicity. The test results for the complex binder developed demonstrate that the concentrations of harmful substances released during heat treatment and combustion of low-sulfur anthracite fines in briquettes are within the environmentally acceptable range of values. |
