Abstract

The article is devoted to the study of the laws of changes in the resistance of a metal to plastic deformation, taking into account its functional properties. A feature of the study is that it was carried out according to a unified method for a temperature range from room temperature to temperatures close to the melting point. In addition, the test samples were cut from the sleeves obtained by the existing technology. Thus, the use of the obtained data should provide higher accuracy in calculating the energy-power parameters of such technological processes of pipe production as reduction and rolling on a continuous mill. This article continues a series of publications devoted to the study of the resistance to deformation of pipe steels. And it presents the results of a study of steel grade 09Mn2Si. In the course of these studies, the fact of softening of the metal at temperatures close to 600 °C was first discovered and a physical justification for this phenomenon was given. It should be noted that the result obtained is of practical importance for determining the technological parameters of the processes of calibration and straightening of pipes in the thermal departments of pipe rolling workshops.
