Abstract

The space–time and genetic relationships of volcanic gold-bearing sulphide deposits in the lithogeodynamic systems being segments of ancient geomorphostructures are characterized. It is found that the constituent elements of these litho-geodynamic systems—geologic formations—hold ore bodies formed under the action of endogenetic and exogenetic processes in certain geologic regimes. Metallogenic indicators of litho-geodynamic evolution are noble, nonferrous and rare metals. The dependence of geological structure, mineralogy and geochemistry of the deposits on the formation and evolution of litho-geodynamic systems, the common features in the structure of wallrock envelopes as well as distinctions are detected in the selected metallogenic provinces of the Lesser Caucasus, Eastern Pontic Mountains and South Ural. The Lesser Caucasus and South Ural deposits are definitely united by the indicative homodromic evolution of volcanism, continuous presence of acid rocks inside enclosing formations, as well as by the specific sulfur–pyrite, copper–pyrite and copper–zinc–pyrite types of ore. In the Eastern Pontic Mountains, alkali–calk volcanism is associated with both hydrothermal–sedimentary gold–pyrite–sphalerite–chalcopyrite mineralization and epigenetic fold- and vein-hosted polymetallic-Au–Cu deposits. The similarity of all deposits is illustrated, which is reflective of the common interior processes on the level of primary sources of substance in a wide space of island-arc zones of the Lesser Caucasus, Eastern Pontic Mountains and South Ural. The regular change of the types of mineralization in the cross-section of the Lesser Caucasus, Eastern Pontic Mountains and South Ural, with one or another deviation, is preserved along the whole length of these folded zones.
