Abstract

Data on reagents — acids and alkalis used in various industries, as well as gases and aerosols released in various chemical and metallurgical processes are presented. Due to the harmful and dangerous effects of acids and alkalis on human health and the environment, it is extremely important to control the concentrations of aerosols of these substances in the air of the work area. The importance of their determination using analytical instruments is shown, as well as the need for their calibration and testing. The developments of JSC Soyuztsvetmetavtomatika in the field of creating reference genera tors for verification of gas analytical equipment are presented. The technical characteristics of the GRANT-GHS, GRANT-HCL, GRANT-HF and GRANT-A generators developed and mass-produced by JSC Soyuztsvetmetavtomatika, used for verification of devices, including gas analyzers from other manufacturers, are presented. The principle of the GRANT-A generator operation, based on ultrasonic spraying of solutions with the formation of stable aerosols (particle size is 3-4 microns), is described in detail. The test results confirming the possibility of expanding the use of the GRANT-A generator for other acids (nitric, acetic) with a measurement error of no more than 4% are presented. Of particular importance is the inclusion of the GRANT-A generator in the State Register as a standard of the 1st category, which confirms its compliance with the requirements of the State system for ensuring the uniformity of measurements. The developed solutions contribute to improving the accuracy of industrial emissions control and improving the environmental safety of production processes
