ArticleName | POX autoclaves — new advances in impeller design for highly abrasive ores |
ArticleAuthor | Keller W. |
Abstract | Processing of ore sluries in the Minerals Processing industry often leads to wear problems. EKATO has undertaken extensive test work to generate information about wear with the objective of increasing impeller lifetime. The primary intention was not to develop new teoretical equations calculate wear characteristics, but to compare erosion in the lab using different impeller designs and thereby draw conclusion for implementation in full scale production. This paper discusses various options investigated, and proposes potential design improvements which will ensure an increased impeller lifetime and therefore decreased operating coasts. |
