The task of determination slurry pump suction line permissible length in paste thickeners discharge of mineral processing tailings hydrotransport systems has been considered. It is shown, that suction pipeline maximum length is limited by paste shear stress, thickener's geometric dimensions and thickened slurry characteristics.
