Problems of development of aluminium alloys for the aircraft industry and main requirements imposed on them when the alloys are used in structures of various units are discussed. Data on russian and foreign alloys are presented. Recommendations concerning application of aluminium alloys able to ensure the desired service life for current civil aircraft are made.
