Perspectivity of process of volatilization is caused by the high chemical activity of chlorine providing degree and complexity of extraction of valuable components from initial raw materials. This process presents special importance for difficul dressing materials which processing by other methods is difficult and ineffective. Necessity of carrying out of oxidising roasting of magnetic fraction, technological parametres and roasting indeces are established. The analysis of a choice of the chlorinating agent for gold chloride volatilization is carried out. Speed of interacting of gold and gaseous chlorine is well above, than at use of firm chlorides or HСl. Dependences of gold extraction on temperature and duration of process are established.
