Environmental consequences of mining operations in the basins of salmon-spawning rivers of Kamchatka Peninsula are analyzed. In view of impossibility of applying conventional wastewater purification methods using conservative chemical compounds for coagulation of suspended fine particles with their forced precipitation, a complex of physical methods is proposed, including acoustical exposure. Commercial-scale application of this method provided for wastewater treatment works (represented by horizontal settlers of various linear dimensions) efficiency increase by 30–40 %.
