Several types of materials selective disintegration are characterized, depending on type of object and purpose, as well as line of disintegration products utilization. The results of studies of properties of minerals intergrowth boundaries, ores structure, minerals' physical-mechanical properties and their effect on selectivity of liberation are briefly reviewed. It is shown that the multi-stage character of ores disintegration is a reflection of non-uniformity of minerals distribution in ore material volume. Ore scaled hierarchy diagram is presented as a system of interrelated structural elements of different scale level, with that, structural element of liberation, introduced in the author's earlier works, may be considered as one of the elements of this hierarchy.
