The results of industrial tests of dual-stage technology of silicon smelting with addition of silicon carbide in charge have been presented. SiC-containing wastes, forming in the process production of silicon carbide heaters, have been used as a source of silicon carbide. Pilot melts on industrial furnaces have been realized. Optimal dosage of every type of wastes in the charge, providing reducing of specific consumption of charge and electric energy and raising furnace productivity have been defined.
