The heritage of mining and processing branch of industry, developed earlier in USSR, is now a topical radiological and ecological problem in the Republic of Tadjikistan. Drawbacks and lack of experience in estimation of security and planning of rehabilitation activities, as well as little experience in forming a strategy, organization and holding of comprehensive environment monitoring in areas, influenced by former uranium facilities, are most significant for Tajikistan.
