Abstract
The examples of usage sandstones from Poland and Germany as decoration stone on fronts of buildings in Petersburg since second half of XIX century have been considered. Stone properties from a perspective of restoration possibility of old architecture objects and its usage in decoration for buildings with new construction and other modern constructions in Russian cities have been characterized.
