Prospects of the process of continuous casting of strip billets from copper and copper alloys in the 2-roll mould

Abstract

Complex potential advantages of copper strip casting in the 2-roll mould are analyzed in comparison with the process of strip billet casting in the graphite slipping moulds. The forecast parameters of productivity of the process of copper strip casting in the 2-roll mould are determined. It is shown that potential productivity of this process excesses essentially productivity of continuous casting in graphite slipping moulds with simultaneous substantial decrease of strip thickness. The proposals for development and step-by-step mastering of the described innovative process are given.
