Abstract

The results of experimental and theoretical research on vibration effect on flow of liquid in tray are presented. The conducted experiments did not reveal a significant effect of vibration on average velocity of flow of liquid in tray. This effect becomes more noticeable with vibration parameters causing various nonlinear effects — formation of cellular structures (Faraday ripples), liquid top layer turbulization, spouting. Theory aspects of these effects have been considered, considerations on their nature and relation to other similar phenomena have been expressed. A presumption that liquid top layer turbulization, as in a number of other systems, is caused by origination of a large number of stable in the small periodical regimes with regard to certain ranges of parameters values, has been made. Liquid spouting height has been estimated, based on the analogy of particle bouncing over vibrating plane surface.
