Circofer^® process features based on circulating fluidized bed are described. Furthermore an overview of the versatility of the direct reduced iron from the Circofer^® process as feed material for several subsequent processes as for example HIsmelt smelting reduction vessel or electric arc furnace and its advantages are outlined.
