The Lovozersky Mining and Concentrating Plant is located behind an Arctic circle in the central part of Kola peninsula. Since 1939 industrial development of the Alluajvsky deposit has begun — industrial complex “Alluajvstroy” on extraction and processing loparite ores has been organized. On December, 16^th, 1947 the Ministerial council of the USSR has accepted the decision “About actions for development of Lovozersky hills”. In February, 1948 Management of building of the Lovozersky enterprise has been organized. On September, 19^th, 1951 the State commission has accepted industrial complex with all divisions in operation. In October miners have given out the first tons of ore, and technologists of processing of ores — the first concentrate. The history of Lovozersky Mining and Concentrating Plant has from this point on begun. In 1956 designed capacities on extraction and ore processing have been completely mastered. With 1957 on 1964, near lakes Umbozero are spent additional prospecting works, stocks of loparite ores are defined, the question on expediency of their industrial working out is studied. In 1967 on the western slope of mountain Alluajv, the bookmark of the Umbozersky industrial ground has taken place. In 1974 II turn on ore extraction on industrial ground “Karnasurt“ is placed in operation. In January, 1984 the State commission accepts mine “Umbozero“ in operation. Today the enterprise stably makes 6 thousand tons of loparite-bearing concentrate in a year. During the last years the enterprise has enclosed in updating of the equipment about 500 million roubles in accordance with the Basic direction of the investment program of Lovozersky Mining and Concentrating Plant Company performance of mountain works on opening and preparation of new horizons, change of technology of extraction of the ore, the applied equipment, introduction of more reliable, modern control systems, perfection of technology of enrichment of ores. Settlement Revda inclusion in a comprehensive plan on development of monocities promotes updating of an infrastructure of the settlement and area. Design works on building on a mountain Alluajv slope, on lake Umbozero of a tourist complex “Russian Lapland” now come to an end. For 2012 the building beginning is planned. In 2015 the complex will be handed over, and reception and service of the Russian and foreign tourists will begin.
