Construction of production and public facilities at the V. Grib Mining and Processing Combine (MPC) at Grib Diamond Deposit started in 2008 with the construction of a motor road 21 km long between the Pomorie township and Grib Deposit. The road connected V. Grib MPC with the regional chief town and the neighbor Lomonosov MPC. With commissioning of the motor road in 2009, a temporary shift camp to accommodate 50 persons was built with the necessary infrastructure, and a modular processing plant was assembled, which produced the first diamonds one year later. Over 30 industrial undertakings took part in the V. Grib MPC construction. With a view to supplying the construction, the nearby sand and sandand- gravel aggregate deposits hundreds of thousands cubic meters in volume were explored and developed. Construction of the V. Grib MPC comes nearer the end by now. The building projects of the highest significance are:
— processing plant with tailing facilities and recycling water supply (commissioned early in 2014);
— power complex with energy and heat capacity of 26 MWt (commissioned in 2013);
— shift camp for 1000 persons (commissioned early in 2014);
— dam for the Kukomka river diversion from the open-pit field and dam for the part drain of the Chernoe lake (both commissioned in 2011). Alongside with the above-listed objects, the other critical objects constructed ensure reliable and profitable operation of the recent deposit.
