Abstract | The results of the Oshurkovskoye deposit apatite ore material composition study are presented. The deposit is located in a special ecological requirements zone in Transbaikalia. Development of a dry processing technology based on vibrational fluidization effect has been considered for the ore in question. Due to the fact that the deposit is located in a dry zone, the conventional flotation method application is not possible because of the special environmental status of the area. For this reason, the developed flow sheet for the apatite ore processing is based on dry methods of beneficiation combined with vibrational effects. The mineralogical-petrographic studies have been performed, including diagnosis of special features of the mineral composition, quantitative analysis of the ore apatite grade, apatite intergrowth with other minerals has been assessed with respect to aggregates composition, character of interfaces and types of intergrowth. The Oshurkovskoye deposit ore material composition study showed that all studied specimens were represented by diorite and syenite-diorite ores with fairly homogeneous mineral composition and rather low — approximately 4 % — Р2О5 content. Grains of main ore and barren minerals, including apatite, are 0.1–0.2 mm and over in size, which is contributory to dry physical methods of beneficiation. On the basis of the ore material composition, a process flow diagram has been developed for dry beneficiation of the ore in question, including electromagnetic separation in fluidized state, permitting to produce apatite rougher concentrate with Р2О5 grade of 16.5 %, suitable for subsequent flotation upgrading stage, providing for saleable quality product. The work was performed with the aid from the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, the Government Agreement No. 14.579.21.0023. UIPNI RFMEFI57914X0023. |
