The accuracy of metallurgical results (the yields of concentrates and tailings and the recovery of valuable components) depends on errors in assaying respective ore dressing products. It is noted that the magnitude of such errors is additionally influenced by the components separation contrast for the operations designed. In most cases, the separation contrast in individual operations ranges from 1.1 to 2.0. However, separation contrast values for an entire plant are rather high. In the presence of excessive information, it is proposed to average the calculated yield values when the averaging criterion exceeds 0.33. The averaging criterion may be calculated by the formula taking into account the assaying errors and the separation contrast for respective components. Concentrating plants equipped with automatic sampling and assaying systems enables virtually continuous calculation of circuit inventories. In view of the inertia of the plant processes, it is impossible to continuously calculate the yields and recoveries of products. Therefore, the minimum possible check calculation period for circuit inventories should be established. For an entire plant, this period is recommended to be equal to a single work shift, but may be significantly extended for large process capacities. |
