In recent years, numerous new techniques have been developed or existing ones improved specifically for application-focused processing of steel. Examples include push-fit connectors and prefabricated elements in structural steels, welding, adhesive bonding and mechanical joining, various welding techniques for steel constructions, shipbuilding and the automotive industry, and the large variety of tailored products for the automotive industry. Especially striking examples can be found in energy technology, in the construction, vehicle, shipbuilding and aircraft industries as well as in rail transport systems and in the chemical industry.
