The journal "Chernye Metally" No. 9-2021 was published.
The issue is opened by the section "Steel production and continuous casting", which contains articles dedicated to the results of the XVI International Congress of Steel Smelters with the participation of 324 specialists, the improvement of the technological process of the reduction cycle of melting steel 20GFL, as well as the development of experimental compositions of flux-cored wires for electric arc surfacing of melting-pulling rollers for the continuous casting machine of JSC "Oskol electrometallurgical plant named after A. A. Ugarov".
The section "Foundry and Metallurgy" presents an article by TsNIITMASH specialists about castings and forgings of large thickness from pearlitic steels, and also talks about issues that were covered at the scientific and practical seminar "Innovative engineering solutions in metallurgy and blank production of mechanical engineering", studying the technological process for repair of castings and forgings with large thickness from pearlitic steels by welding.
In the sections "Rolling production" and "Production of pipes" modern research in the field of hot strip rolling on a 1950 mill, continuous rolling of pipes on a long retained plug and forming a steel pipe billet on the 1020 TESA line is considered.
The section "Metal Science and Metallography" is devoted to the study of the method for processing the results of factory expert opinions for the interpretation of the nature of nonmetallic inclusions, the physicochemical identification of the carbide phases of the "iron - carbon" diagram and the microstructure of Fe - 12% Mn - 1% C alloy ingots.
The journal publishes congratulations on the anniversary of a prominent specialist in the field of metallurgy, materials science and diagnostics of materials, academician Konstantin Vsevolodovich Grigorovich.
In the same issue, publications are presented in the sections "Machine-building technologies" and "Training of specialists and personnel policy".
