Gornyi Zhurnal
This January 2021 Issue of Gornyi Zhurnal on the occasion of the 3rd Technical Council for Geomechanics spotlights the up-to-date knowledge and experience on mine support design and installation in underground mining in Russia and abroad.
This issue contains contributions of theoreticians and practitioners from various research institutions and mining companies. The scope of the articles encompasses operation and advancement of seismic monitoring in underground mineral mining, general mechanisms of strong rock bursts and induced earthquakes, rock mass–roof support interaction in underground excavations, connection between water content of rock mass due to permeation of surface water and rockburst hazard in mines, comparative analysis of room-and-pillar mining alternatives, technologies and parameters of roof support in stopes meant for re-use in bottom-up stoping, as well as geomechanical justification of joint surface / underground mining operations in complicated geological conditions.
Some articles of the issue focus on other geomechanical problems of the current concern.
